Frances Edith Woodmass (nee Workman) passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 3, 2026, at the age of 95.
Fran was born and raised on a farm near Minto, MB. Life on the farm was far from easy in those days, tending to livestock, growing crops and caring for a large garden.
After high school, Fran moved to Winnipeg to become a hairdresser. She worked at Chateau Lake Louise before returning to Manitoba.
She married Frank Woodmass in 1954 and had 3 children.
She continued to cut hair and sell Avon out of the basement while the kids were young.
Following in her mother's footsteps, she was an excellent cook and baker. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and needlepoint.
As the kids grew up, she ventured into selling real estate which led to a long successful career with Century 21. She loved selling houses but was known for talking more people out of the house they wanted than into it. She was brutally honest and never had a filter.
Fran and Frank were not known as big travelers. Frank was busy with his music commitments while Fran did the heavy lifting raising the kids.
They were able to purchase a trailer and enjoyed many fun times in the Killarney campground. This eventually led to buying a cottage in Killarney that family still enjoy.
Fran spent the later years in Lions Manor and Victoria Landing. She loved any outings or visits. She was especially proud of all her precious grandchildren.
Fran was pre-deceased by her parents Ernie and Lily Workman, husband Frank Woodmass, brother Bill Workman, sister-in-law Shirley Workman and brothers-in-law Gordon Holmes and Bev Jackson
She is survived by sisters Ernestine Holmes and Helen (Richard) Johnston.
Her children include son Bob (Cathy) Woodmass; Chris (Shauna), Jarret (Jen), Chelsea (Tim). Daughter Laura (Don) Stephenson; Pam, Darlene, Sandy (Carl), Val (Phil). Son Jay (Joyce) Woodmass; Ryan, Justin (Ashley), Jennifer (Fabien).
She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter!
A private family service will be held.
